Group therapy is amazing in that it is a place where you discover that you are not alone in your circumstances and feelings. You are a valuable part of something important and meaningful, and you get to learn from others that are going through similar situations. Group therapy can speed the healing process by being with others who give you a safe place to heal, motivation to heal, and support to aid you in healing. Group work is a dynamic, fun, and interesting approach to making change occur in your life. It is a great addition to individual, couples, or family therapy. Many people do the bulk of their healing in a group environment. I operate groups out of my office. Leading groups is a joy for me and I encourage everyone to give it a try. Every group is not for everyone. You must shop to find a match for you. Consider joining a group, especially if you are in recovery from addiction, trauma, and chronic pain.
